SAVE THE DATES!!  -   4OTH REUNION  - CLASS OF 1979

DUNEDIN        20,21,22 SEPTEMBER  2019

It is also the University of Otago’s 150thyear celebrations throughout the year so lots to see and do (although we’re avoiding most of the stuffy bits).

Planning is underway for a Friday night function at the University Staff Club overlooking the beautifully refurbished banks of the Leith, a Saturday night dinner at Larnach’s Castle with all the trimmings, and the usual uplifting and entertaining programme of talks with lots of catch –up time.

Get Planning now!

Look forward to seeing you all in Dunedin.

Mike, Sharleen and Rob

Out of 195 classmates we are still missing contact details for 121 individuals - please check the missing classmates page and ask any you know to join this website. Alternatively advise the site administrator:   http://www.classof79.net/class_contact.cfm

Currently website costs have been covered by me to October 2019 at $USD250 per annum. Prior to the announcement of the dates for the 2019 reunion, I had arranged to be in Europe for September 2019.  Sadly I am unable to attend this coming celebration..  so please discuss the future and funding of the website at the 2019 reunion.

At 08.20hrs AEST 08/08/2015 Carole Anne Millichip took her last breathe and peacefully, but reluctantly, died at Wamberal NSW, Australia.

Carole was confronted by Advanced Ovarian Cancer, for 6 years and 8 months, but Carole never gave in.

Medically Retired form General Practice in September 2014, Carole worked as a volunteer Medical Researcher 1- 2 days each week targeting FSH/LH receptor site on Ovarian and Thyroid Cancer Cells at the Hunter Medical Research Institute searching for Hormonal triggering and control by Menopausal elevations in LH/FSH.

Survived by Husband Doug Smith, and sons Clive, Duncan and Max.

Carole’s wishes were:-

1 Humanity should shoulder the load of inequality in health internationally. Donate to Medecins Sans Frontieres https://www.msf.org.au/donate/other-ways-to-donate.html
2 Ovarian Cancer might in future be a path followed by fewer. Donate Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation http://ocrf.com.au/donate/

Flowers do not help others. Carole helped others.

Big "Thank You" to the convenors of the Wellington & Auckland Reunions. In early January 2105 Sally Urry banked $12,750 into the Scholarship Fund, being funds left  after all expenses were paid.
